Junior Olivia Askew was a double-winner in both the women's 100-Meter Dash and 200-Meter Dash at the Valparaiso Crusader Open, hosted by NCAA Division I Valparaiso (Ind.) University on April 29. Despite the chilly and overcast conditions, Askew led from start to finish in both races to claim the two victories in 12.57 and 26.22 seconds, respectively.
She followed up that performance by claiming the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) crown in the 100-Meter Dash at the CCAC Championships in Joliet, Ill., on May 6.
Askew crossed the finish line in 12.43 seconds to take first-place in the event, and in the process, helping her team to a program-best 4th-place finish overall in any meet with 48 points.
Askew didn't stop there – finishing second in the 200-Meter Dash as well.
