Cloutier named Crimson Wave Men's Head Soccer Coach
Whiting, IN – Calumet College of St. Joseph and Director of Athletics David Lopez announced that Shane Cloutier has been named the head coach of the CCSJ Men's Soccer Program.
Cloutier brings seven years of coaching experience from the youth to professional level. He comes into his first collegiate head coaching position with much enthusiasm, energy and determination to get the most of this program.
"What excites me so much about this opportunity is the community, the people here and the impact I know I can and hope to make," Cloutier said. "I look forward to coming in and doing the right things to improve. Hopefully all my efforts can take this program to where it belongs."
Most recently, Cloutier was an assistant coach for Hanover Central High School in 2024, helping lead them to a program record 12 wins.
Prior to that, he was a coach for the Indiana United Football Club from November 2023 to June 2024. He was an assistant for the Indiana Thunderbolts as well as the Men's United Premier Soccer League, coaching and training players from the high school to professional level.
From 2020-21, Cloutier was also the Lake Central High School boys' soccer head coach for two seasons.
Within a month since being hired, Cloutier is already connecting with the current players and hopes to retain majority of the team. He also is working on bringing in "immediate impact and high character" guys to further establish a culture.
"In my past, the teams that have had the most success, are the closest," Cloutier said. "I'm trying to build a family here. … We'll bond and eat together, play futsal when it's cold outside and do community outreach stuff together all year around that will lead to togetherness and build towards a winning program."
