Thursday, the Calumet College Men's Volleyball team traveled to Milwaukee, WI to play their first CCAC match against Cardinal Stritch University. The Crimson Wave were coming off a strong weekend, going 2-1, and were ready to continue building off that season-opening weekend.
Cardinal Stritch was able to take the 1st set over the Crimson Wave, 28-26, but in the 2nd set CCSJ topped the Wolves 25-14 to force a fourth set. The 3rd set was another close game for the Crimson Wave, but with 7 errors from the Wave, the Wolves won the set 29-27. In the 4th set, CCSJ wasn't quite able to get things going and ran out of time to catch up to Cardinal Stritch before they won over the Crimson Wave 25-19.
Crimson Wave points leaders were Pedro Castillo with 17 kills, 2 service aces, 10 digs, 1 block, and 3 assists, Francis Hauze with 17 kills, 3 service aces, 4 digs, 1 block, and 1 assist, and Jacob Moen led the team with 39 assists, 8 digs, 2 blocks, and 2 kills.
