Crimson Wave Advance to CCAC Title Match After Five-Set Thriller Against Olivet Nazarene
The CCSJ men’s volleyball team took down Olivet Nazarene in a five-set thriller, setting the Wave up with a match against Saint Xavier in the conference championship.

Chicago, IL – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's volleyball team advanced to the CCAC Championship match following a five-set victory over Olivet Nazarene at the Shannon Center on Friday, April 19. After splitting the first four sets, the Wave scored the final four points in the fifth set to close out the match 3-2.
- Freshman outside hitter Daniel Lopez came away with 14 kills, six digs and one solo block
- Junior outside hitter Francis Hauze recorded 13 kills, seven digs, two assists and one ace
- Junior outside hitter Pedro Castillo finished the match with 32 assists, 11 kills, 10 digs
- Freshman outsider hitter Diego Antunez notched 11 kills, five digs and one solo block
- Senior libero Gustavo Medina added 13 digs
- Graduate student middle blocker Thomas Garbutt posted five digs, two kills and one assist
The Crimson Wave will move on to face Saint Xavier in the CCAC Championship match on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. in the Shannon Center.
