Crimson Wave Men's Volleyball tops ONU, 3-1, on Senior Night
The CCSJ Men's Volleyball team won its second straight conference match with a 3-1 win over Olivet Nazarene on senior night. The Wave honored seniors Gioele Iacono, Francis Hauze and Aria Moen, along with graduate students Ethan Dawson and Thomas Garbutt, before the match.
Whiting, IN – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's volleyball team (8-12, 6-5 CCAC) celebrated senior night with a 3-1 victory against Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Olivet Nazarene on Thursday, April 3 at the Rittenmeyer Center.
Prior to the match, seniors Gioele Iacono, Francis Hauze and Aria Moen, along with graduate students Ethan Dawson and Thomas Garbutt, were honored.
For the game, CCSJ won set one 25-19 with 12 kills and its highest attack percentage of the day at .381. The Crimson Wave also won set two 25-22 and set four 25-23.
- Senior outside hitter Francis Hauze came away with a match-high 17 kills, along with six digs and six aces
- Graduate student outside hitter Thomas Garbutt recorded 11 kills, five digs and two aces
- Graduate student Ethan Dawson finished with seven kills and five digs
- Senior middle blocker Gioele Iacono notched five kills and 11 digs
- Sophomore setter Brayden Richardson had 37 assists and two digs
- Freshman outside hitter David Navata added six digs after subbing in for the injured Aria Moen
The Crimson Wave's next game will be its regular season finale against Saint Xavier on Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m. CDT.
