CCSJ Softball signs Columbus North’s Lovelace
Whiting, IN – Calumet College of St. Joseph softball head coach Dave Lopez signed Kelsey Lovelace from Columbus North High School for the 2024-25 season.
Lovelace, a 5'8 shortstop, plans on studying Psychology while attending CCSJ. While at Columbus North, Lovelace is a three-year, soon to be four, all-conference softball player. She recently broke the softball record hits at Columbus North as well. With her travel ball team, she earned the rookie of the year silver slugger award, the golden glove award and was recognized as the most valuable player.
Academically, Lovelace is currently top-15 in her graduating class, sitting at 32 of 485 students.
Lovelace enjoyed her visit to CCSJ as she said "the campus is beautiful and everyone is so welcoming!" She is looking forward to "meeting new people and having the opportunity to get out of her home town."
