Staden named to NCFA NAIA All-Region Team
Louisville, KY – After helping the Calumet College of St. Joseph softball team make its deepest run in postseason history, first baseman Adelina Staden was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team announced on Friday, May 23.
The NFCA named 150 student-athletes from 66 different schools to the All-Region team. The award honors student-athletes from the Association's six NAIA regions with selection to one of two teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.
Staden earned her selection to the NAIA All-Region V First Team for her stellar senior season. She led the Crimson Wave in hits with a .482 batting average, an on-base percentage of .571, and a slugging percentage of .723. She also led the team with 24 drawn walks, along with a team-best 99 total bases.
Playing in all 44 games for CCSJ, Staden posted 66 hits, 19 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 44 RBIs. Defensively, she made a team-high 261 putouts with 15 assists on just five errors, equating for a .982 fielding percentage.
All honorees now move forward to be considered for selection for the two NFCA NAIA All-America teams, which will be announced June 5.
