CCSJ Women's Basketball signs Merrillville's Rivers

Merrillville, IN – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's basketball program have signed Viniece Rivers to the incoming class for the 2026-27 season. 

Rivers, a 5'3 guard from Merrillville High School, plans on majoring in Neuroscience and chose CCSJ because, "I believe I would be a great addition to the school overall! CCSJ is local, the school has my major, along with basketball. It was an amazing deal!"

The Griffith, Indiana native is an A/B honor roll student that ran on the track and field team.

Coming to Calumet College this fall, Rivers said she is looking forward to building a sisterhood with the girls' basketball team as well as exceeding in her studies.
