University Park, IL - Starting the three-game week strong with a win, the Calumet College Women's Volleyball defeated Governors State in their first 3-0 win of the season.
The Crimson Wave earned their first CCAC win but also only their second win of the season since August 19th against York College. The Wave earned their 3 sets wins, 25-18, 25-23, and 26-17.
Roberta Carlos Da Silva and Naomi Monney helped lead the Wave to victory both with double-digit kills, and Carlos Da Silva with a .524 hitting percentage over 3 sets. Ivana Quinones also had double-digit assists and digs with 11 and 12 a piece. Breonn Green and Monney each had 2 blocks through the 3 sets to help with the Crimson Wave's victory.
The Crimson Wave play two more matches this week, at IU-South Bend on Thursday, Sept. 28th and back at The Ritt. on Saturday, Sept. 30th.
