Barbosa and Lopez named CCAC All-Academic
Gabriela Barbosa and Marina Lopez were selected for the 2023 CCAC Women’s Volleyball All-Academic team on Wednesday, December 20.
Whiting, IN – Two Calumet College of St. Joseph volleyball student-athletes were selected for the 2023 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team Wednesday, December 20. The criteria to be nominated was earning a cumulative 3.25 GPA or better while being enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year and have completed at least 30 semester hours.
Earning the academic awards for the Crimson Wave were Gabriela Barbosa, a senior with a psychology major, and Marina Lopez, also a senior with a psychology major.
This is the second year in a row Lopez was named academic all-conference, and this is the first for Barbosa.
Both Barbosa and Lopez are international students and with English not being their native language, the entire volleyball team, staff and Calumet College as a whole is extremely proud of what they have accomplished.
