CCSJ Cross Country signs Hammond's Trombetta

Whiting, IN – The Calumet College of St. Joseph cross country program has signed Gina Trombetta to the incoming class for the 2026-27 season. 

Trombetta, a 5'3 distance runner from Hammond, Indiana, plans on majoring in kinesiology and chose CCSJ because, "CCSJ is close to home and has the kinesiology program."

At Morton Senior High School, Trombetta was a part of the cross country, track and field, and swim team. In 2021-22, Trombetta was a cross country regional qualifier and a track and field conference champion in both the 1600 and 4x800. In 2022-23, she helped Morton become team conference champions in both cross country and track and field.

Come next school year when she's with the Crimson Wave, Trombetta said she is looking forward to getting her degree, meeting new people and joining the cross country team.
